Years ago, I backpacked a week, starting on this trail, but this was the first time for me to appreciate it as an artist. Perched precariously on a talus slope above this stream-side trail, I was able to frame both the peak and the water in a long vertical composition. It had been extremely muddy hiking back then, and sure enough, it took three days to complete this painting, due to the interrupting storms, some as long as four hours!
